HELENA - Presidential candidate Barack Obama will be joining rival Hillary Clinton in Butte next month at the Montana Democratic Party’s Mansfield-Metcalf dinner, the Lee Newspapers State Bureau has learned Friday. Two political sources confirmed Friday that Obama will be in Butte on April 5. Democratic Party officials announced Thursday that Clinton would be coming to Butte for the dinner. The Montana Democratic Party is scheduled to announce Obama’s visit to Montana later Friday. Both candidates are scrambling for enough votes to win their party’s presidential nomination. Montana Democrats will vote in a presidential primary on June 3, with 17 delegates up for grabs. read more

Anyone who signed the petition on the Downing Street website against pay-as-you-drive schemes will be bitterly disappointed that Mr Darling has revived that particular stealth tax. The answer, apparently, is tax avoidance schemes, disguising income from interest as capital and some North Sea and Isle of Man tax dodges. In his reply to the Budget, David Cameron said Mr Darling delivered the Budget “with all the excitement of someone reading out a telephone directory”. BOZEMAN - A Delta Airlines jet en route from Cincinnati to Seattle made an emergency landing Monday evening in Bozeman because an engine was leaking fuel. Fire crews were standing by as the Boeing 737 came in for a landing at Gallatin Field at about 6 p. Delta spokesman Kip Smith in Atlanta said the plane carried 133 passengers and the landing was without incident. Smith said another airplane was sent to Bozeman to continue the flight to Seattle.
